The Beatles

The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960, and one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music. From 1962 the group consisted of John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitar, vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals).

The Beatles achieved mainstream success in the United Kingdom in late 1962 with their first single, “Love Me Do”. Gaining international popularity over the course of the next year, they toured extensively until 1966, then retreated to the recording studio until their break-up in 1970. What is a Portfolio?

A portfolio is a collection of work you have done through a period of time. It should include all the materials used and detail every step. Represents the student’s outcome.

With a portfolio a teacher can easily assess a student’s achievements in one or more areas of the curriculum, It’s a very useful method, and could be a powerful tool to make students learn something. Feedback plays the main role in portfolios, is the way to assess the students and correct their mistakes.

The only negative aspect is that it takes a lot of time for teacher to actually assess their whole student’s portfolios, nevertheless it works great in small groups of students.

Summative Evaluations

This type of evaluation is made to provide information on a student’s performance. It gives a general view of a student strengths and weaknesses. It’s very useful to help students with their mistakes and correct them with the proper feeedback.

The most important point of this type of evaluation, is that it focus on a product rather than a process.
